Green Living

Solar PV:
You live in the Sunshine state, so why not help reduce your strain on the electric grid by generating some of you own electricity?

Whether you just want to offset your electrical bill, or live completely off grid, we can design and install the system that will meet your needs.  This can optionally be tied into the Home Control & Automation package to view on the touchscreen, in real-time, how much electricity you are generating and consuming.

All our systems are applicable for the Federal Tax Credit ($2000), and the State of Florida's rebate program ($4 per DC watt  generated, $20,000 maximum).

Solar Hot Water:
A solar collector heats up water and returns it to a highly insulated hot-water tank.  Unless there are a lot of cloudy days in a row, your hot-water heater almost never has to turn on.

Energy Audit:
We'll evaluate your home's lighting needs, and quote replacement Compact Fluorescent & LED bulbs, fixture, and installation fees.

Water Usage:
An optional component of the Home Control & Automation package, this will let you view statistics of your water usage by day, month, and average.  This can also alert you if there is water being used (leaked) while you are away.

Away Mode:
An included component of the Home Automation & Control package that provides a one-button method of turning off all lights, lowering all blinds, raising the thermostat, and setting the security system as you leave the house (assuming all the relevant packages are installed in the home).  The home-owner can easily set this mode to turn off automatically after a set amount of time (to return the home to its original temperature settings before you walk in the door).

 

Home Automation & Security

Lighting System:
Rows of standard light switches get replaced with easy-to-read back-lit buttons.  In addition to controlling lights, these buttons can also be set up to control scenes or other devices around the house (e.g., home theater, sprinkler system, security check, turning all lights off in the house with one button push while on your way out, etc.; some control features may require the Home Control & Automation Package).

Window Blinds Control:
A perfect tie-in to your Lighting System, or your Home Control & Automation package, this will allow you to raise & lower your window blinds automatically, through scenes, or through button pushes.

Security & Announcements:
Magnetic sensors in all doors and windows are tied back to a central system, letting the home owner know whenever anything is opened or left open.  A whole-house announcement system is used to convey status messages (e.g., "Someone is at the Front Door", Security Checks, Pool Water temperature, etc.), alarms, and intruder alerts.   This package works seamlessly with the Away Mode, and will call your cell-phone in the event of a break-in.

Access Control:
Do away with keys!  Our Access Control system replaces your doors with electronic locks, so that you can enter your house with either a PIN, or a wireless RFID keychain fob.  With the Home Control & Automation system, you can easily enable/disable people's codes (e.g., the Pool Cleaner), as well as get a daily log e-mailed to you showing you who and when people entered your house.

Thermostat Control:
An optional component of the Home Control & Automation system that gives you control (manually & through automation) of your HVAC system through touchscreen, voice, or web.

Home Control & Automation:
A centralized control unit ties into any SmartHome Package you may purchase, providing home control through touchscreens and/or voice commands.

How We Help Protect Your Data
Our backup solutions involve determining what files are important to you, how frequently you want them backed up, and how many backup sets you want to keep.

First, determining the files that should be backed up. This usually involves all of your documents in the My Documents folder, images from your digital camera, and possibly hundreds of other files scattered around your hard-drive such as your tax return, your purchased iTunes music, your e-mail archive, your Internet Favorites, etc.

Second, how often should each type of file be backed up? For example, your documents 3 times a week, your music and pictures once a week, and you taxes one-time only.

Finally, the backup sets that are produced are just ZIP files. This lets you go back and look at older versions of you files, which can be very handy if you've made an accidental revision to a document or an image.

 

Have IT needs, but don't need a full-time IT staff? We might be the perfect fit for your Home-Office & Small-Office needs.

Standard Consulting & Service Call fees - Tell us what you need, and we'll provide you a free quote on the solution. Our standard rate is $80/hr.

Hourly Block rates - If you have fairly consistent IT needs, then purchasing our services ahead of time can save you money, and make invoicing easier.

  • Block of 10 hours:  $700
  • Block of 25 hours:  $1600
  • Block of 50 hours:  $3000

Fixed-cost Solutions - Here are some of the solutions that we offer, with time and material already figured in.

    • System Tune-up & Security ($225)
      No-Viruses Breathe life into your current system!  Does your computer not run as fast as when you first bought it?  We can help.  This tune-up will remove all viruses, ad-ware, mal-ware, and other programs that you don't need clogging up your system. It includes in the cost an upgraded anti-virus and anti-adware software to help keep your system trouble-free in the future.  Additionally, we'll update your system with all of the latest security patches that have been issued for it, and show you how to have a safer and more secure web-browsing experience.


     

    • USB HDD Data Backup to an external USB Hard-drive ($250) 
      We'll provide and install an external 250GB hard-drive (this will hold over 350 CD's worth of data; though larger sized hard-drives are available). Then, we'll install and configure software on your computer so that every day, all of your important documents will be automatically backed up to your new external hard-drive.


     

    • Data Backup from multiple computers to a Network Attached Hard-drive ($400)
      NAS We'll provide and install an external 320GB hard-drive. This hard-drive connects directly to the network so that multiple computer can use it. Then, we'll install and configure software on two of your computers so that every day, all of your important documents will be automatically backed up to your new external hard-drive. Additional computers can be added to this backup package  for $50 each.


     

    • Off-site Backup ($2 per 100MB per month, plus one-time $50 set-up fee)
      Give your really important documents extra security by storing them in your own password-protected archive on our private server in Arizona.  We'll come to your office to install and configure the backup software, which will create a fresh archive once a week, that will automatically update the off-site copy.


     

    • Other Backup Needs
      Give us a call if you have other backup or storage needs -- maybe you need RAID solutions, or have many hundreds of Gigs of data -- and we'll give you a free estimate on a solution.


     

    • Encrypted Wireless set-up ($120)Wireless AP
      Want the freedom of accessing the Internet without wires, with the peace of mind that what you're sending out over the air can't be seen by "eaves droppers"? We'll configure your Wireless router or Access Point with encryption, and set up your computer to communicate with it.

      We'll configure any additional wireless devices you have for $35 each.
